How do I tell the difference between an electric heat pump and a gas pack?
According to my landlord and the previous tenants of my house, we have electric heat and a gas water heater. My gas bill is so high, the gas company says our heat has to be gas. All I see outside is an electric heat pump. No furnace inside. Central air and heat. $400 gas bill. Landlords are sure the heat is electric. How to know for sure?
No Warm Air Coming Out Vents For Electric Heat Pump?
I have an electric heat pump/ac system. When I first turned it on this year, the outdoor fan wasn’t working so I called a repair guy and he replaced the TXV and now it appears to be working normally. However, when the heat comes on, only cool air will come out of the vents but the house still warms up as normal. Does this have something to do with when it turns on the ac to defrost itself and then uses the heat strips to actually heat the house, or does this have anything to do with the freon? When, if ever, would I need to add more freon to the system? And also, when the house warms up and the heat pump turns off, it will start up again only about 15 minutes later ( with the temp being 35-45 F outside currently and the thermostat set to 68 F). Would new insulation help with this as well?

My home main heating unit is not blowing hot air, It’s electric w/a heat pump.. any suggestions?
I have an electric heat pump and blower inside the house, it does turn on but only blows cold air when it’s supposed to blow hot air. I had a company come over and look at it, they told me that the heat pump was fine, & that I had to only replace a small fuse box and two 60 amp fuses, I did that and it worked ok for a while but for some reason it doesn’t blow hot air. Any suggestions before I call the repairmen again and get overcharged again? Thanks!
