No Performance…help? car chokes….?

Hi. My family just bought a old car (Opel Corsa 1.0 12V – 3 Cylinders) and my father took it to the service, and they changed some things, and it’s good now, everything is OK, but i was overtaking a car, in second gear, about 2.500 RPM i pressed full thottle (i don’t usually do that, but i had this time) and the car was choking, changed the sound, and the RPMs were going down and the service light turned on. I got scared, so i continued driving normally, and when i press the throttle slowly it’s going OK, but if i press it to the floor, it’s choking. The Air filter is clean, so it’s not that, the fuel pump is OK, but there’s a thing on the inlet that costs 40-70 euro, it’s something about the air, i think it decides how much air will be flown into the cylinders, but i’m not sure. So my question is: why the car is not going when full throttle? it shouldn’t choke, it’s 12 Valve. P.S. I’m not pushing the car, but i don’t wanna drive it broken/damaged. THANKS for the answer. Happy New Year
Yeah, I think it’s the MAF too (Mass Air Flow Sensor) But it’s expensive….

  • 1999 Nissan Skyline GTR Vspec:

maybe the throttle position sensor is the problem

maybe the vacuum advance on the ditributor

    replace mass air flow snesor

Check your fuel filter too. That’s a $2 part that can get partly clogged and cause power loss under full throttle.
